OREANDA-NEWS  Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in Moscow have significantly decreased due to the advent of electric buses. The fact that the air in the capital has become cleaner was announced by the mayor of the city, Sergei Sobyanin, in his Telegram channel.

Sobyanin recalled that electric buses appeared in Moscow in 2018. According to him, since then, carbon dioxide emissions have decreased by 130 thousand tons. "One electric bus reduces CO2 emissions by 60 tons per year, there are already more than 1.7 thousand such cars today," the mayor noted.

The head of the capital promised that by 2030 5.3 thousand electric buses will travel along Moscow streets, which will replace buses and significantly improve the environmental situation.

Earlier, Sobyanin told when a shipyard for the construction of electric ships will open in Moscow. According to him, the company will be launched at the end of 2024.
