OREANDA-NEWS  The majority of vehicles in Russian taxi fleets are European-made: four European-built cars account for two Chinese cars and one and a half domestic cars, according to experts from the National Taxi Council Association (NST), as reported by RIA Novosti.

The study, based on a survey of the 100 largest taxi companies in Russia, revealed that Chinese-made cars are quite prevalent in taxi fleets, with 23% of surveyed companies having half of their fleet composed of Chinese-made vehicles. Additionally, 32% of surveyed companies rely on the products of the Russian automotive industry.

Natalia Lozinskaya, the association's executive director, stated that taxi companies frequently opt for European vehicles due to the similarity in their economic performance, particularly in terms of income and expense ratios. In the current climate, taxi companies are replacing their older vehicles, which were purchased 3-5 years ago, with newer ones, and are also exploring opportunities to acquire European-made cars.
