OREANDA-NEWS Truck sales in Russia have fallen in the first half of 2026, the Izvestia newspaper writes, citing industry experts. According to Autostat, the largest drop (19 percent) was recorded in the segment of small vans weighing up to 3.5 tons.

Sales in the segment of medium-duty trucks (weighing from 3.5 to 16 tons) decreased by 7 percent from January to June of this year. Moreover, this is the only class of commercial equipment where growth has been noted since the middle of spring, and in June it immediately amounted to 41 percent. However, given the severe recession in winter and early spring, it has not yet been possible to reach positive values.

In the second half of June, experts recorded a revival in the passenger car segment. From June 15 to June 21, Russians purchased just over 28,000 new passenger cars, which is 27 percent better than the period from June 8 to June 14.
