OREANDA-NEWS.Bolivian authorities will seek help from Interpol in connection with the warrant issued by the prosecutor’s office for the arrest of ex-president Evo Morales. This was reported on Wednesday by the press service of the prosecutor general's office of the republic.

"Bolivian Prosecutor General Juan Lancipa Ponce said that the prosecutor’s office is requesting that the arrest warrant be handed over to the police to execute it, and that she will request cooperation from Interpol", the statement said.

According to the Prosecutor General, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic will also be involved "to activate all possible mechanisms of cooperation." In addition, Lancipa Ponce noted that the normal criminal prosecution procedure had been launched against Morales, as the crimes of which he was suspected were allegedly committed after his resignation.

On Wednesday, Bolivian Interior Minister Arturo Murillo posted on Twitter a document deciding to issue an arrest warrant for Morales as part of a criminal investigation into incitement to rebellion, terrorism and terrorist financing. The ex-president called the warrant illegal and contrary to the constitution.
