OREANDA-NEWS  Cuba, amid an acute fuel crisis, needs Russian technologies for its energy sector, as well as oil supplies, but such supplies are complicated by geography and external restrictions, former Peruvian Foreign Minister Hector Behar told RIA Novosti.

"We need to look at whether, if assistance in the form of oil is not possible, it can be in the form of alternative technologies to provide Cuba with basic energy. And I think that Russia, being a developed country, has a number of technologies here that, of course, can be transferred," said former Foreign Minister in the government Pedro Castillo (2021-2022).

According to Behar, Cuba needs oil, but its supply from Russia is difficult due to the distance and the opposition of the United States.
