OREANDA-NEWS The Turkish presidential administration has confirmed Recep Tayyip Erdogan's participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in China, and he is expected to hold talks with Chinese Leader Xi Jinping.
As previously noted by Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, Vladimir Putin and Erdogan will meet on the sidelines of the SCO summit, which will be held in Tianjin, China, from August 31 to September 1. According to him, the leaders of Russia and Turkey will discuss bilateral cooperation and international issues, including the situation in Ukraine.

"President of our country Recep Tayyip Erdogan, at the invitation of Chairman of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, will visit Tianjin from August 31 to September 1, 2025 as an honorary guest of the 25th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization," said Burhanettin Duran, head of the Communications Department of the Turkish Presidential Administration.

According to him, during the visit, Erdogan will speak at a meeting of the summit, which will be held in an expanded format on Monday, September 1.

"Our president will also hold bilateral meetings with other leaders, including the host of the summit, Xi Jinping," Duran said.
