OREANDA-NEWSThe head of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, Konstantin Kosachev, said that misinformation about Russia is actively spreading in the EU countries, especially in the context of the situation with coronavirus in the country.

Among the fakes related to the Russian Federation and its actions in a pandemic, the senator highlighted the publication of false information about the inefficiency of Russian humanitarian aid in Italy or the Russian Federation’s attempt to influence the republic’s policy with the help of a difficult situation, which was subsequently refuted by the Italian government.

At the same time, Kosachev drew attention to the fact that the Russian Federation is often accused of creating and distributing fakes about the coronavirus. However, he emphasized to Russia, "firstly, this is simply not necessary". "And secondly, we are not interested in a weak and fragmented, but in a strong and consolidated European Union", the parliamentarian said.
