OREANDA-NEWS  German Chancellor Friedrich Merz called the unwillingness of other European countries to listen to the Baltic states, which warned of alleged threats from Russia, a mistake. He stated this during his speech to the Bundestag, the broadcast is available on the department's YouTube channel.

"For too long, we in Germany have refused to listen to the warnings of our Baltic neighbors about Russia's imperialist policies," he said.

Merz noted that the Europeans realized their mistake. He added that "Lithuania's security is Germany's security."

In addition, the German Chancellor promised to turn the German army into the strongest army in Europe.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Western countries, using the mythical Russian threat, were scaring the population that Moscow was allegedly going to attack someone. According to him, Russia is being driven to the red line, and Moscow cannot but respond to this.
