OREANDA-NEWS  The German authorities may sharply increase the cost of renting military bases in Germany for the United States in response to the duties imposed by US President Donald Trump. This is reported by the British newspaper The Times.

"[The source] stated that Germany could significantly increase the rent it charges for using these bases," the report said.

It is noted that we are talking about the American military bases in Stuttgart and Ramstein. At the same time, Berlin has not yet considered the issue of closing these bases.

Earlier, Trump announced 10 percent duties against a number of European countries due to the situation around Greenland. They will affect Germany, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, as well as non-EU Great Britain and Norway.
