OREANDA-NEWS The volume of money transfers from Russia to Georgia decreased by 13.6 percent in 2025, to 467.6 million dollars. This is reported by TASS with reference to the data of the National Bank of the Transcaucasian Republic.

Fewer funds were transferred from Russia to Georgia than from the United States ($682.3 million) and Italy ($620.9 million), which showed an increase of 19.1 and 9.5 percent, respectively.

In general, the volume of transfers from Russia to the country, which previously became one of the main areas of relocation, has been falling for the third year in a row. In 2022, the figure exceeded two billion dollars, after which it began to decline, falling by 26 percent in 2023 to about one and a half billion. In 2024, it decreased by almost three times, amounting to about 541 million.

The total volume of transfers received in Georgia was also decreasing, but last year, on the contrary, it increased by 8.5 percent to the levels of 2024, to 3.6 billion dollars, according to the agency's materials.
