OREANDA-NEWS Munich Airport announced the suspension of flights due to the detection of drones in the airspace.
"Late on the evening of October 2, the German air traffic Control restricted flights at Munich airport from 22:18 (23.18 Moscow time), and then completely suspended them due to several spotted drones," a statement posted on the airport's website said.
It notes that 17 flights were unable to take off as a result of the incident. The suspension of flights affected almost 3,000 passengers.
At the same time, 15 incoming flights were diverted to Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Vienna and Frankfurt.
Earlier, flights were suspended at several airports in Denmark due to the detection of drones.
According to the Danish Ministry of Transport, unknown drones have been repeatedly spotted in the skies over the kingdom since September 22.
On the night of September 25, drones were spotted over several airports in Denmark, as well as over the country's military installations. Representatives of the Danish authorities called the drone incidents a "hybrid attack," but refrained from commenting on where it could have come from.
