OREANDA-NEWS. French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, commenting on reports of the alleged "inevitable invasion" of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, urged not to respond to information that changes from day to day.

"The situation in Ukraine. You have to be on the alert and not react to information that changes from day to day," Le Drian said on the air of the French LCI TV channel when asked by the presenter to comment on the US statement about the alleged "imminent invasion" of the Russian Federation.

"I saw that there were some changes on the part of the Russian authorities, let's say there should be a place for diplomacy. Very good. There were changes on the part of the Russian authorities, saying, 'Look, we have begun to withdraw (troops)'. That would be good news. But there is a step between the announced changes and the implemented changes. Words are good, I prefer facts. I would like us to be able to state that this is not about rotation, but about the withdrawal of a number of troops," he said.

Earlier in the Kremlin, commenting on NATO statements about the lack of evidence of the withdrawal of Russian troops after the exercises, they said that the alliance has a problem in the system for assessing the situation. And Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called calls to check the withdrawal of Russian troops after the completion of the exercises a lack of education in the West.

Le Drian stressed the need to keep a cool head and a sense of reality today. "Everything is possible: both a massive invasion of Russian forces into the territory of Ukraine, and a diplomatic solution," he said.
