OREANDA-NEWS The premature statements of the current Armenian authorities about the victory of the current Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's party "Civil Contract" are putting pressure on the Central Election Commission (CEC). Ishkhan Saghatelyan, head of the Armenia electoral bloc of former President Robert Kocharyan, said this on Facebook (a social network banned in Russia; owned by Meta Corporation, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
"Before the election results are summed up, your statements are just steps to put pressure on the CEC and usurp power. Having not been elected, before giving instructions to the judiciary, you will still have to answer for all the electoral violations registered today," he wrote.
According to him, the CEC had processed data from about a quarter of polling stations at that time, and a significant part of the votes had not yet been counted. On the night of June 8, Pashinyan declared victory for his party after processing ten percent of the votes, the prime minister stressed that the "Civil Contract" would single-handedly form the government.
At about 9 a.m. Moscow time, the CEC announced that the Civil Contract party had won by counting all votes, gaining about 727,000 votes. This is 49.81 percent. The second place is taken by the Strong Armenia party of Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan, it won more than 340 thousand votes, which is 23.29 percent. Former President Robert Kocharian's Armenia Alliance is in third place, with a score of 9.94 percent.
