OREANDA-NEWS. Russia has improved its position in international ratings of transparency of the state budget, according to the official website of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.

"In a new review from the International Budget Partnership (IBP) for 2019, Russia improved its position on the publication of key information that helps the public understand the essence of the current budget policy, as well as decisions and results", the report says. Now Russia shares 13-14th place with France from 117 countries evaluated by France, the Finance Ministry emphasized. According to the results of 2017, Russia ranked 15th out of 115 countries.

“The value of the budget openness index is 74 out of 100 possible (an increase of two points compared to the 2017 estimate), the indicator for budgetary oversight is 85 out of 100 (an increase of 7 points). According to the ministry, the Russian Federation was able to increase access to budget information, including through the online publication of the preliminary budget proposal of the executive branch.
