OREANDA-NEWS Solar activity has increased slightly, but this state of the star will not last long, according to the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Research (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

"Today is expected to be a little more lively, but very minimal. A couple of new spots with unspent energy reserves appeared on the Sun the day before. As a result, the graph of flare activity transformed from a straight line into a small comb — several weak, barely discernible flashes occurred. It seems that this will be the end of it — the spots do not show signs of further growth," the message on the laboratory's Telegram channel says.

It is noted that a small coronal hole is now visible just to the right of the center of the solar disk, it is approaching the area of action on Earth. Because of this, the probability of a weak G1-level solar storm on Friday is estimated at 50%.
