OREANDA-NEWS The Czech Foreign Ministry intends to abolish the post of commissioner for consultations with Russia because of the situation in Ukraine, TASS reported, citing the Denikn M newspaper, Gazeta.ru reported.

The government appointed Rudolf Jindrak, head of the international department of the Czech presidential administration, to the post of commissioner for consultations with Russia. Consultations between Prague and Moscow have not yet begun. The sides were holding consultations with the Russian Federation in accordance with the 1993 Treaty on Friendly Relations and Cooperation. It took about two years to prepare.

Jindrak is aware of the situation and has no objections to the changes and termination of cooperation with Russia. It is not yet determined when the issue of the abolishment of the post will be brought up at the government session.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia reacted to an appeal of the Czech Foreign Ministry to Russian diplomats to leave their service. In March, the Czech Foreign Ministry also informed the Russian Embassy about the recognition of a diplomat as persona non grata.
