OREANDA-NEWS The last Russian Consulate General has stopped working in Poland. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
"The Russian Consulate General in Gdansk has stopped working (...). Now consular services for Russians and foreign citizens are possible only in the consular department of the embassy in Warsaw," the agency reports.
On November 19, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski announced a decision to close the last Russian consulate in the country, in the city of Gdansk.
Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov called this measure a manifestation of degradation in Russian-Polish relations.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stressed that Moscow intends to reduce Poland's diplomatic presence in Russia in response to Warsaw's actions.
