OREANDA-NEWS The Netherlands has acquired 100 radars in order to monitor the appearance of drones in advance, Western media reported, citing the Dutch Ministry of Defense.

"100 radars will not be transmitted immediately. The first batch will arrive tomorrow, and all radars are expected to be delivered by 2026. Escort vehicles for them will be available in early 2026," the agency said.

Dutch Robin Radar radars will be able to distinguish UAVs from birds and other aerial objects.

The media reminds that last Saturday the work of Eindhoven airport was disrupted due to drone flights. In addition, on Saturday night, the Dutch military had to use weapons against UAVs that were spotted over the Volkel Air Force base in the south-east of the country near the border with Germany. The drones could not be shot down. The Ministry of Defense did not specify to whom these devices could belong.
