OREANDA-NEWS. The number of cases of pneumonia caused by the 2019-nCoV virus in China has increased to 17,205 people, the number of deaths has reached 361. This is stated in a statement published on Monday by the State Committee for Health of the PRC.
"As of 00:00 on February 2, the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in China reached 17205, the condition of 2296 people is estimated as severe, 475 patients were discharged from the hospital, the number of deaths reached 361. A total of 21558 suspected cases were recorded", in the message.
As follows from the statement of the department, only on Sunday in China, 2829 new cases of the disease and 57 deaths were detected. "A total of 189583 people had close contact with the infected, of which 152700 people are under medical supervision", the committee said in a statement.
