OREANDA-NEWS  President of the United States Donald Trump has admitted that the country may take a "different position" on the conflict in Ukraine in the absence of progress. He said this during a speech at the White House.

The American leader noted that he had a "very good meeting" with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska. "Let's see if it leads to something. If not, we will take a different position," Trump said, without specifying what kind of changes he was referring to.

Earlier, the American president threatened "consequences" if the meeting of the heads of Russia and Ukraine did not take place. Trump also said he was ready to take "certain measures" if the Ukrainian conflict was not resolved in the near future.
