OREANDA-NEWS  US President Donald Trump called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and asked him to cancel the strike on Iran. This was reported on the social network X by Axios correspondent Barak Ravid, citing an unnamed Israeli official.

In response to the request of the American leader, Netanyahu said that he could not cancel the strike and that a response was needed to violate the ceasefire.

"As a result, it was decided to significantly reduce the scale of the strike," the publication says.

It clarifies that Israel has decided not to strike at a large number of targets, but to attack only one of them.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump criticized Israel and Iran for violating the truce. He also called on Israel to "calm down" and accused the country of dropping "many bombs" immediately after the armistice agreement came into force.

Some time later, Trump said that Israel would not attack Iran. According to him, all military aircraft will be deployed, and the truce between the parties will remain in force.
