OREANDA-NEWS   Vladimir Zelensky has requested a two-month cease-fire to hold a referendum on an agreement that will address the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, the Ukrainian newspaper Zerkalo Nedelya wrote on Wednesday, while the Russian side has repeatedly stated that it is interested in a lasting and sustainable peace, and not in episodic truces.

According to Ukrainian journalists, Zelensky presented a Ukrainian draft plan for resolving the conflict on Wednesday while talking to the press.

"We can go to a referendum (on the entire agreement on the settlement of the conflict - ed.) The referendum needs at least 60 days. And we need a real ceasefire for 60 days. Otherwise we won't be able to do it. That is, the referendum will be illegitimate," the Mirror of the Week quotes Zelensky's words on its Telegram channel.
