The regulator also noted the increased activity of telephone scammers, while calls from false employees of the Central Bank or credit institutions remain the most frequently used method by attackers. The Central Bank reported that it initiated the blocking of more than 276 thousand phone numbers that were used to deceive Russians. 8056 suspicious Internet resources were also identified, information about them was transferred to the Prosecutor General's Office for subsequent blocking.

Earlier, Kaspersky Lab specialists told about a new scheme of deceiving Russians in Telegram. According to experts, the attackers disguise themselves as a currency exchange service and try to steal money from users, at the same time luring out personal and financial information. Scammers have created a resource on which it is proposed to exchange currency and cryptocurrency, and in order to lull the user's vigilance, they offer to pick up cash at the point of issue and even specify a convenient point of issue and time for the client.
