OREANDA-NEWS Israel has asked the United States for $10 billion in emergency aid. This is reported by The New York Times (NYT), citing three sources among officials.

It is noted that this amount seriously exceeds the one that the White House planned to coordinate in Congress to allocate $ 2 billion to Israel and Ukraine. A bill with such a volume of assistance to the two states will be proposed to congressmen by President Joe Biden after the House of Representatives chooses a new speaker.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden expressed confidence that Washington can simultaneously help Ukraine and Israel with the phrase "who, if not us". According to him, the United States is the most powerful country in the history of the world, so they are able to support both states without compromising their own international security.

Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin expressed a similar opinion. He confirmed that Washington will be able to provide military assistance to Kiev and Jerusalem at the same time. "The USA is the most powerful country in the world. We are capable of (...) fulfill their obligations and carry out deliveries to many theaters [of combat operations] at the same time," he explained.
