OREANDA-NEWS  In 2023, the cost of Russian software in the corporate segment increased by 10-20 percent. Kommersant writes about this with reference to market participants.

Such a sharp increase, significantly exceeding inflation, was associated in the Cifra Group with an increase in developer salaries. The Association of the largest consumers of software and hardware confirms that in 2023 the average salary in the field increased by about 20 percent, so the price increase is natural.

Kroc explains the difference in price increases by the class of software and how often new versions of products are released. The Ministry of Finance does not yet see the need to intervene in the situation, since market participants are able to work out the rules of the game themselves.

However, a year ago, the rate of price growth was much higher. After complaints from large software customers about the price increase by one and a half times, the authorities convinced the developers to publicly sign a charter on self-regulation of prices. It said that the increase in the cost of a software product cannot exceed the consumer price growth index plus 15 percentage points, so even a 20 percent rise in price still fits into these rules.

Nevertheless, as explained by Renat Lashin, executive director of Domestic Software, the Ministry of Finance continues to discuss the creation of a kind of "ethical commission" that would investigate cases of overcharging by individual companies.

In early December, it was reported that banks began massively raising loan rates to Russian IT companies and electronics manufacturers from preferential 3-5 percent to market 18-18.5 percent. Financial organizations explained such measures by the lack of compensation from the Ministry of Finance, and the agency itself attributed the situation to a temporary shortage of funds due to an increase in the key rate.
