OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian government will additionally allocate 7.5 billion rubles to pay for medical workers, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

At a meeting with deputy prime ministers on Monday, Mishustin drew attention to one of the priorities of state policy - the development of medicine.

"An important part of this work is related to ensuring timely co-financing of the labor costs of newly employed doctors and nursing staff, including nurses, paramedics, obstetricians, pharmacists, all those who are directly involved in caring for patients, helping them fight diseases," the prime minister said.

Over 7.5 billion rubles will be allocated for these purposes, Mishustin said. "According to a preliminary forecast, in 2024, more than 9.5 thousand doctors will come to work in healthcare institutions, but also almost 17 thousand specialists of secondary medical personnel," the head of the government of the Russian Federation said.

Mishustin stressed that resources should be transferred as quickly as possible so that payments are received in full and on time.

He asked Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova and Finance Minister Anton Siluanov to keep this issue under personal control.
