OREANDA-NEWS  The Arbitration Court of Appeal refused to recognize illegal a turnover fine against Google in the amount of 2 billion rubles, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) reported. In November 2022, the decision of the FAS was also supported by the court of first instance.

The agency claims that the rules developed by the American company for blocking accounts on YouTube "are opaque, biased and unpredictable." After the start of Russia's military operation in Ukraine, Google blocked a number of YouTube channels that belong to Russian companies and TV channels.

The antitrust case against Google has been considered since April 2021. At the end of July, the regulator fined Google 2 billion rubles due to "abuse of YouTube's dominant position." The company tried to appeal the decision and the order of the service, as well as the decision on the imposition of a fine.
