OREANDA-NEWS The Arbitration Court of Appeal sided with the Mediamaker advertising agency in the case against IKEA and upheld the decision to fine the Swedish company 176.5 million rubles for refusing television advertising under an annual contract, Vedomosti reports.

Ikea Dom LLC (a legal entity of IKEA in Russia) pointed to an incorrect calculation of the fine for canceling a deal with an advertising agency. Representatives of the organization wrote about this in the appeal. However, the court considered these arguments untenable.

It is also reported that this is the largest lawsuit against a Swedish company and the first trial where the amount of compensation to the plaintiff remained unchanged.
