OREANDA-NEWS. Former Polish President and Nobel Prize winner Lech Walesa is looking for work. The coronavirus pandemic is the reason of this decision.

«I'd love to be an electrician. I still remember Ohm's law, Kirchhoff's law, and some other things. But, damn it, everything has changed, and I do not know if these machines will kill me now», Walesa said in a conversation with «Onet».

According to the former Polish leader, his wife spends a lot of money on the needs of the family. This amount exceeds the couple's household income. After retirement, Walesa receives six thousand zlotys, which is about $1.6 thousand. Note, that the average salary in Poland is 4.9 thousand zlotys.

Last year, Walesa also complained about the lack of money. He was ready to «go begging». Walesa founded the Solidarity trade union in the 1980s. In 1983 he received the Nobel peace prize, and was the head of Poland from 1990 to 1995. Before the pandemic, he gave paid lectures at various universities around the world.
