OREANDA-NEWS  By the end of 2022, nominal wages in Russia will grow by an average of 11.6 percent, the Ministry of Labor of the country predicts. The corresponding statement by Deputy Head of the department Elena Mukhtiyarova at the General Council of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FNPR) is transmitted by RIA Novosti.

Mukhtiyarova noted that such an indicator indicates a slower growth of wages compared to the inflation rate in the country. At the same time, the Ministry recognized that the level of wages is the most important issue.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Labor Anton Kotyakov said that by the end of 2022, the salaries of Russians will grow in absolute value, but their growth will be able to exceed inflation only next year. In this way, he reacted to the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin that wages should grow faster than prices.

In turn, the head of state expressed confidence that inflation in Russia should fall to 5 percent or lower at the beginning of next year. In 2022, according to the Central Bank, the price increase will be 12-13 percent, and in 2023 it will decrease to 5-7 percent.
