OREANDA-NEWS Currently, the Russian lunar program is being approved by the federal executive authorities (FOIV). This was stated in an interview with the General Director of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov.

"For a mission to land an astronaut on the surface of the Moon, it is necessary to approve the program for creating a superheavy-class space rocket complex. Currently, the draft program, as well as the development and approval of the lunar program are being coordinated in the FOIV," the head said.

The head of the state corporation noted that the key areas of development of Russian manned cosmonautics are the creation of a Russian orbital station, which in the future will replace the International Space Station, and training in sending an astronaut to the Moon.

In March, the Lavochkin Scientific and Production Association announced that the Russian automatic interplanetary station Luna-25 would be delivered to the Vostochny cosmodrome in the first decade of June.

In February, Roscosmos announced that the launch of Luna-25 is scheduled for July.
