OREANDA-NEWS  The issues of shortage of personnel in the healthcare sector in Russia remain relevant, said Galina Izotova, Acting Chairman of the Accounts Chamber (SP). Her words are quoted in a press release on the Joint Venture website.

In recent years, outpatient employment has been growing slowly — from 84 percent in 2018 to 84.6 percent in 2022. Most of all, there are not enough doctors of narrow specialization providing medical care to children. According to Izotova, pediatric services are chronically understaffed, and pediatric doctors themselves need professional development.

Earlier in June, employees of the Abakan ambulance station in Khakassia complained about the "negative growth" of salaries. They claim that before the New Year they raised their salary from 7 thousand to 12 thousand rubles. However, at the same time, incentive payments decreased, so that the income of doctors decreased by 5-15 thousand.

At the same time, the burden on staff has increased due to layoffs of employees. The reason was the refusal of the regional authorities to send additional funds to the wage fund for 2023.
