OREANDA-NEWS. The meeting fits into Greceanii s official visit to the Czech Republic on 2-3 September. The two officials signed a protocol to the Agreement on mutual protection of investments. The document was elaborated for the adjustment of the normative acts which establish the bilateral cooperation after the Czech's Republic joined the EU, reported the Official website http://gov.md/.

With the Czech Republic taking over the EU Presidency, the sides discussed opportunities of bilateral development, including in the energy sector, visa and commercial regime.

Zinaida Grecianii thanked her counterpart for the assistance offered to Moldova to abolish the consequences of floods that hit Moldova in 2008 summer. The Czech Republic was the first country to send humanitarian aid and Zinaida Grecianii reiterated an invitation for the Czech prime minister to pay an official visit to Moldova.

Grecianii said that Moldova relies on the development of trade operations between the two states. The economic forum which will be organized during this visit to Prague will offer a new occasion to foster the development of relations in this sector.

In the context of Moldova's European integration, Grecianii thanked her counterpart for the offered support.

Mirek Topolanek  noted that the Czech Republic will further continue  to support Moldova in the process of the EU integration, because Moldova is on the list of the eight counties to which the Czech Republic offers support for development.

Mirek Topolanek also said that very soon, a Czech expert will pay a visit to Chisinau to grant consultations to improve the system that ensures the prevention of floods.

The two prime ministers also discussed aspects of the Transnistrian conflict and declared for its peaceful settlement.
