OREANDA-NEWS. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has adopted a resolution for monitoring the compliance with several member countries’ obligations.

The document contains provisions requiring Russia to implement the Minsk Agreements, as well as return of the “annexed” Crimea to Ukraine. PACE called on Russia to intensify its efforts to fully comply with all obligations as a member country of the organization, in particular fully implement the Minsk Agreements and “end its military intervention in, and support for, illegally armed formations in Eastern Ukraine.” The resolution also includes clauses on the ongoing negative processes in Russia in the field of democracy, observance of laws and human rights.

However, PACE welcomed the desire of Russia to fully engage in the current monitoring procedure of the Assembly.
