OREANDA-NEWS  In the first half of 2025, shipments of Russian cheese and cottage cheese abroad increased dramatically. RIA Novosti reports on the increase in exports of products, citing data from the Agroexport center under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

In annual terms, shipments increased by 20 percent, to $70 million. In physical terms, the volume of exports amounted to 14 thousand tons.

In six months, the supply of young cheeses increased by a third, to $33 million. Exports of processed cheeses increased by 16 percent year-on-year, to $25 million.

The main buyers of Russian cheeses, as before, are Kazakhstan and Belarus — they increased purchases by 15 and 39 percent, respectively. Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan are also among the top 5 main importers of Russian products.

By autumn, relevant ministries and departments should prepare proposals to tighten responsibility for producers for adulterating dairy products and misleading consumers. Among the measures discussed are turnover fines for companies and the destruction of products at the expense of its owner.
