OREANDA-NEWS  FESCO— one of Russia's largest transport and logistics companies— has temporarily suspended accepting applications for shipments across the Black Sea. This is reported on the band's website.

The reason for this decision was the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Black Sea using marine drones. As a result, the container ship Yanina sank. The incident occurred about 200 kilometers from Novorossiysk.

Against the background of increased risks, the company's management decided to temporarily restrict cargo transportation in the Black Sea. The safety of the crews and the safety of the cargo remain the main priority for FESCO, the press service stressed. Currently, representatives of the group are working on delivery options in compliance with all security measures. FESCO did not disclose the terms for resuming the acceptance of new applications for shipments through the Black Sea.

Sergei Likhachev, the head of Rosatom (FESCO is part of the state corporation), noted that civilian products were on board the sunken vessel. The container ship was transporting frozen food, construction and finishing materials. All 17 crew members were rescued. After the incident, the group continued to operate normally.
