OREANDA-NEWS  Apple has unveiled new versions of operating systems (OS) for tablets, computers, and smartwatches at the WWDC-2025 worldwide developers Conference. The presentation is available on the company's website.

Apple announced the OS following the introduction of iOS 26 for smartphones. Just like the iPhone OS, the interface of all systems has received a new Liquid Glass design.

The new macOS 26 for Mac computers was named Tahoe. "This macOS includes many of the features we've heard about in iOS," the company explained the similarities between the OS for smartphones and computers. So, Live Activities appeared on computers — a pop-up window with the progress status of applications. We have changed the Spotlight search bar, from which it will be possible to perform certain actions and commands from applications.

iPadOS 26 has added all the main features of iOS 26 — updated iMessage and Camera, new artificial intelligence (AI) features, and a new Safari browser. The OS also changed the order of the application windows, showed a new cursor, and added a preview function from macOS. The Files app now has advanced document editing features.

The watchOS 26 smartwatch OS has a virtual assistant that provides real-time training recommendations. It is available during running, strength and cycling workouts. We have improved the Smart Stack feature, which automatically offers widgets on the home screen. We also added a new gesture that allows you to scroll through notifications without using your second hand.

Earlier, Counterpoint Research (CR) experts predicted a rise in smartphone prices in 2025. The main reason for the slight increase was the uncertainty associated with high US duties.
