Dr. Paulo Camargo named UCLA Dentistry's Distinguished Faculty of the Year
OREANDA-NEWS. June 07, 2016. Dr. Paulo Camargo, associate dean for clinical dental services and chair of the section of periodontics at the UCLA School of Dentistry, was honored as the school’s Distinguished Faculty Member of the Year. He received this recognition at the school's commencement ceremony.
Camargo, who holds the Tarrson Family Endowed Chair in Periodontics, teaches at the pre- and post-graduate levels and conducts clinical and basic research that focuses on salivary diagnostics for periodontal diseases, periodontal and bone regeneration and peri-implantitis. He has over 80 publications and has lectured extensively in the United States and abroad.
A diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a fellow of the American College of Dentists, Camargo earned his dental degree from the University of Parana, Brazil in 1984 and a certificate in periodontics from UCLA in 1990. He also holds an M.S. in oral biology from UCLA and an M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
