OREANDA-NEWS. August 01, 2016. Beacon Health System has selected Cerner’s Millennium Revenue Cycle suite of solutions, which will integrate with its existing system-wide Cerner electronic health record (EHR). The patient-centric platform is designed to enhance the clinical and financial workflow of patient care services throughout the health system. The integrated system will enable Beacon clinicians to develop a more holistic view of an individual’s care by incorporating clinical and financial information together throughout each area of the health system.

“We decided to expand our relationship because we believe Cerner is well-positioned to guide Beacon’s progression toward improved care delivery to communities of northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan,” said Mark Warlick, CIO of Beacon. “Our goal with this expansion is to provide a more reliable delivery of care by aligning tasks like scheduling, registration and billing on the same platform. In the end, we aim to offer our providers access to the right information at the right time which we believe will enable them to provide better patient care.”

Cerner’s Clinically Driven Revenue CycleTM will enable clinicians and staff to update the billing process throughout the patient’s visit, enhance clinical documentation designed to help improve reimbursement and limit claims errors. Patients will experience a single bill and record across all facilities, direct access to clinical results and financial liability from a single source.

“Cerner is committed to establishing the health information technology foundation to support the future success of Beacon as the organization continues to evolve as a health care provider,” said Caleb Anderson, VP of Cerner. “We look forward to working side by side with Beacon in helping them create stronger financial and clinical alignment across their system that will enable them to meet their financial objectives.”
