OREANDA-NEWS. ExxonMobil is expanding its comprehensive slate of polyethylene products with the introduction of Exceed™ XP performance polymers. Developed through advanced catalyst technology, process research, and applications expertise, Exceed XP is specifically designed to provide extreme performance in a variety of film applications and to run at faster production rates.

“Exceed XP extends the performance and processing attributes of our extensive line of polyethylene resins,” said Cindy Shulman, plastics and resins vice president, ExxonMobil Chemical. “Packaging films made with Exceed XP offers a high level of protection and preservation for a broad range of products. These unique polymers are especially well-suited for demanding applications such as liquid and food packaging, construction liners and agricultural films, where extreme performance matters.”

Exceed XP allows converters to develop innovative solutions for the fabrication of:

  • Liquid packaging including bag-in-box, pillow and stand-up pouches, and flexi-tank container liners. Exceed XP produces exceptionally strong films, with excellent flex crack resistance and toughness that prevent product leakage and contamination, helping manufacturers and brand owners protect and preserve their products through to the consumer.

  • Flexible food packaging for use in highly demanding environments such as low temperatures or high volume. Exceed XP produces exceptionally tough films with outstanding sealing performance. Downgauging levels of up to 30 percent can be achieved with better packaging performance, while helping producers and brand owners protect and preserve food longer.

  • Building and construction liners to help builders protect their structures. Liners using Exceed XP inhibit water vapor penetration to reduce the risk of mold formation.

“These new performance polymers are part of our commitment to growth and innovation,” said Cindy Shulman. “With a strong foundation of global reliability, product consistency and technical support, we are delighted to be expanding our Exceed™ and Enable™ performance polyethylene portfolio with Exceed XP – when extreme performance matters.”
