OREANDA-NEWS. Analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" conducted a study of the market of passenger cars in Russia in the first three months of 2016. This study included the primary and secondary markets in each subject of the Russian Federation and it helped to establish the ratio between new and used cars.

According to the study, the highest ratio between them is observed in Moscow, which has the highest market share of new passenger cars in the country (38.7%). In other words, for every ten purchased cars in the capital, there are four new ones and it is connected with the higher standard of living. Accordingly, the rest six cars were bought by Muscovites in the secondary market.

The largest ratio between the secondary and primary markets was observed in the subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District. This is due to the fact that in the region there was imported a large amount of used vehicles from neighboring Japan. Thus, the maximum rate was fixed in the Jewish Autonomous Region - more than 50 times. It is in this area the market share of new passenger cars is the lowest in the country (less than 2%).

Note also that in the first quarter of this year, the share of the primary market in Russia as a whole was 19.4%. In the secondary market, the figure is 80.6%. As a result, there are four used cars per one new sold car in the country.
