Sales of passenger cars in Europe grew by 15.5% in May

OREANDA-NEWS. Sales of passenger cars in Europe grew by 15.5% in May up to 1 million 330 thousand 599 cars. As the representatives of the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) noted, the best sales result for May since 2008, therewith the positive trend was recorded for 33 consecutive months. In the first five months of 2016 sales of cars in Europe were 6 million 583 thousand 373 units – more by 9.7% than a year before.

As it was noted in the review of the European car market for May, among manufacturers the highest number of cars in the European Union vehicles was sold by Volkswagen in the last month - 149,357 vehicles (+ 4.1%).
