OREANDA-NEWS. Three facilities put into operation are the Sulfuric Acid Production Plant, Reserve Power Supply Section and Tare Warehouse. This completes construction of all major facilities on the central production site of the enterprise in Bauntovsky Evenki District of the Republic of Buryatia.

Our readers will remember that the main production building, warehouses for chemicals and ready products, the transformer substation, the compressor station and the firefighting depot were put into operation in May of 2015.  They were followed by two more construction stages, which included the power supply unit, intersite water supply networks, and the section for production and storage of sodium nitrite.

Before then the facilities of the third construction stage were approved by the Interterritorial Office of Nuclear and Radiation Safety for Siberia and the Far East, and the Trans-Baikal Office of the Russian Technical Supervision Authority.

“Only by producing our own sulfuric acid we can guarantee ongoing increase in the volumes of acidulation, and gradually start production at Istochnoe, Vershinnoe and then other deposits.  The ecological factor is also very important.  If we stop transporting sulfuric acid from Kadala railroad base in Chita to our production site, we remove one of the major environmental risks in our activities.  We can also lower considerably the adverse environmental effect on the environment if we discontinue using coal.  We are ready now to turn off the coal furnace room, and provide heat for the entire production facility using the heat produced during the production of sulfuric acid,” Alexander Glotov, General Director of JSC Hiagda, said.
