OREANDA-NEWS. Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) will highlight key space and missile defense capabilities during the 19th Annual Space and Missile Defense Symposium at the Von Braun Center, Aug. 16-18.

The symposium's theme is "Space and Missile Defense in a Complex World" and Northrop Grumman's exhibit is located in booth 701.

 

Northrop Grumman capabilities at the symposium include:

  • In its most recent flight test, the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Battle Command System (IBCS) successfully used sensors and interceptors from different air defense systems, selecting from different missile types to defeat multiple threats arriving at the same time. The IBCS is key to a revolutionized IAMD and crucial to the Army vision for an IAMD command and control capability across all echelons and AMD assets.
  • The Advanced Threat Warner (ATW) offers unprecedented four in one functionality: missile warning capability, hostile fire indication, laser warning and situational awareness. This lightweight system provides outstanding clutter rejection, missile detection, and accurate hostile fire warning via a heads-up display or other cockpit presentation.
  • The AN/AAQ-37 Distributed Aperture System (DAS) provides 360-degree situational awareness and is able to detect, track and target multiple, simultaneous ballistic missiles. DAS represents a new generation of staring infrared sensor that, when combined with follow-on communication and systems cueing, provide the regional commander the tools needed to respond to ballistic missile threats.
  • The AN/TPS-80 Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR) is a highly mobile multi-mission radar system designed for expeditionary requirements. G/ATOR provides multifaceted detection and tracking capabilities to enable engagement of a wide range of threats, and offers robust air traffic control capabilities to ensure the safety of Marines worldwide.
  • The Highly Adaptable Multi-Mission Radar (HAMMR) is a multi-mission radar system with true on-the-move capabilities. Based on proven technology already in production, HAMMR provides comprehensive situational awareness to protect the fighting force from current and emerging threats – all while operating on-the-move.
  • The Joint Tactical Ground Station (JTAGS) is a transportable information-processing system that receives, processes and disseminates overhead persistent infrared sensor information on tactical ballistic missile launches and other events of interest for warning, alerting and cueing via in-theater tactical and strategic communications networks.
