OREANDA-NEWS. Today, at the Gazprom Headquarters, Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee has conducted a meeting dedicated to the implementation of the Shtokman gas condensate field project.

The parties specified the strategic importance of the Shtokman project for Gazprom. The field had been identified as the major resource base for Russian gas export to Europe via the Nord Stream gas pipeline as well as for liquefied natural gas production.

The participants discussed the Coordinating Group’s major tasks for the Shtokman project management, additionally examining the progress with the development of a plan of measures and project implementation schedule ensuring the synchronization of gas production, pipeline supply, and LNG production start-up with Gazprom’s long-term gas balance.

Summing up the meeting results, Gazprom’s core business units and Sevmorneftegaz were tasked to continue the work on the Shtokman project execution.
