OREANDA-NEWS. On June 05, 2007, on the occasion of the World Environment Day, Rostekhnadzor’s Technological and Ecological Control Department for Kurgan region held a conference to sum up the results of its industrial safety and environment protection activities in 2006. The head of the department Pavel Moskvin pointed out that in 2006 Dalur CJSC, one of TVEL’s uranium mining companies, showed high professionalism in ensuring industrial and ecological safety, reported the press-centre of TVEL. 

For its high efficiency in environment protection - in 2006 Dalur was proclaimed the second best company in the sphere - the company has been awarded Rostekhnadzor’s certificate. Last year the company won the All-Russian Contest “Environment Protection Leader-2006”.

Dalur CJSC was registered in 2001. It extracts uranium at Dalmatovsky deposit, the first Russian deposit where uranium is extracted by means of underground leaching - the ecologically safest technology ever applied in the mining industry.  

Since 2001 Dalur has been under intensive construction: today, the company has a main technological building, an administrative building, a gas boiler, an asphalt road that leads to the site, a 110/10 KW power sub-station, power transmission lines. In 2006 the company extracted 262 tons of uranium. By 2010 the company is planning to increase the output to 640 tons a year. Dalur employs over 300 people.

The company plays a big role in the development of its region. In 2006 it transferred over 30mln RUR to the regional budget (with over 65mln RUR to be transferred this year).
