OREANDA-NEWS. TNK-ВР launches supplies of diesel fuel that meets Euro-4 requirements for all Company owned  and jobber TNK branded retail sites across all regions in the Ukraine, the company's public communications department informs. In April, the company shipped the first 40 thousand tons of low sulphur 50 ppm diesel to the internal market, Evgeniy Kalinin, TNK-BP Commerce Deputy General Director, has informed. "At first, we were supplying fuel to those partners, whose terminals were ready to receive the new product without quality losses. At present, we supply solely the Euro-4 standard diesel fuel for the retail network needs . With low sulfur fuel, the exhaust emissions are decreased and the quantity of sulphur dioxide emissions is reduced by 40 times. Due to the high cetane rating and low content of sulfur and polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons, the fuel combustion in engines is improved. The engine noise and vibration is reduced, the corrosion processes are decreased, as well as longer life of the particulate filters is achieved. This kind of fuel may be used in any modern diesel engines," he said.

At present, low-sulfur diesel fuel is not imported into Ukraine, and Lisichanskiy oil processing plant (LINIK) is the only producer of such fuel in the internal market. At the end of December 2006, the enterprise received the UkrSEPRO conformance certificates, confirming that the diesel fuel with the decreased sulfur content of three grades: С, Е, and F complied with the qualifying standards. During the first half of 2007 CJSC, LINIK has exported 119 thousand tons of Euro diesels, and a quantity of 152 thousand tons has been supplied to the internal market. Consistent with the Company business plan in 2007, the new fuel will be produced in the amount of 754 KT which will deliver reductions of sulphur dioxide emissions by ca 3 KT in Ukraine.

"Today, every car driver, who takes on fuel at TNK, not only shows concern about his or her transport vehicle, but also makes a tangible contribution to the improvement of the ecological situation in the country," Mark Goodwin, JV LLC Kersher General Director, has noted. "First of all, our efforts are directed towards improving the environmental situation as well as raising the quality of products," he added.
