OREANDA-NEWS. AvtoKraz plans to launch truck assembly lines in Cuba in the very near future. The first year of output in Cuba is expected to be about 200 trucks, in contrast to the 9,000 vehicles per year that KrAZ delivered to Cuba in the Soviet era. The company plans returning to India and Afghanistan. The deliveries of KRAZ vehicles to these countries were stopped in 1998 and in 1991 respectively. KRAZ is also discussing possibility of new assembly lines in Venezuela, Ecuador and Nicaragua.

According to Millennim Capital investment company, KRAZ's expansion plans are a very positive news. The new assembly plant in Cuba alone sould allow the company to increase its output by 5% y/y in 2008. In the Soviet era KRAZ produced about 32,000 trucks per year. In 2007 its plans to produce 4,200 vehicles.
