OREANDA-NEWS. October 26, 2007. In January-September 2007, profit of Iljichevsk Commercial Seaport (Ukraine) totaled 16.994 million hryvnias (some $3.4 million), a 17-fold increase, year-on-year.

The company’s management attributes the results to a systematic and well-measured policy aimed at increase of specific weight of high-tariff cargoes. The share of general cargo grew to 71% from 53% in January-September 2006. Turnover of general cargo grew by 8%, year-on-year (+11.4% against plan). Turnover of containerized cargo (the core of high-tariff cargoes) grew by 60%. Transshipment of ro-ro cargo (passenger cars) climbed 4-fold. In 2006, it grew by 6% and by 130% respectively.
