OREANDA-NEWS. On October 30, 2007 the National Nuclear Energy Generating Company EnergoAtom became a full member of the European Utility Requirements for LWR Nuclear Power Plants group (EUR) at a Monday sitting of the EUR Governing Committee in Brussels. As the EnergoAtom press service reported, the status will allow enhancing the corporate image among European partners and taking part in decision making processes of the group, reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.

In April 2005 EnergoAtom became an associated member of the group. As Ukraine's contribution to EUR EnergoAtom had to draft the redaction of the "C" Volume 4 EUR ("Requirements to energy generating units"). The EnergoAtom experts have done the job perfectly and met all the accession obligations.

The European Utility Requirements for LWR Nuclear Power Plants group is a specialized club of European companies involved in electricity generation from nuclear power, established in 1991. It is aimed at developing technical requirements to new NPPs for the further development of atomic energy in Europe in the XXI century on the basis of modern security standards and energy saving technologies, which are acceptable for national regulatory bodies, attractive to the population and profitable to the producer.
